Top Tromboning from the Pasadena Roof Orchestra

Regular visitors to the Brooklands Museum might occasionally be taken aback by the music that echoes around the fantastically-restored buildings of the world’s oldest racetrack. As a favourite venue for car clubs of all denominations, they tend to bring their own choice of CDs with them… meaning that a gathering of Vauxhall Crestas will be accompanied by the likes of Billy Fury or Cliff Richard *shudder*.

One imagines that the spirits of Clive Dunfee and Sir Malcolm Campbell are somewhat troubled by the tannoy on these occasions. There’s really only one style of music that fits the Brooklands ambience, and only one troupe up to the job of playing the notes in both the right order and the right spirit – so let’s hear it for the Pasadena Roof Orchestra!
